Rend Lake Regional

The annual Rend Lake Regional is always an ultra-competitive event as it features a guaranteed first place prize of $5,000. This year it was Team Rensing, the father and son duo of Chris and Russ taking home the win. They brought in a limit weighing 17.04lbs and that included the day's biggest bass, a  6.49lb bass.

Chris Rensing recapped the day and said they won the event thanks to a strong afternoon bite.

"We caught seven keepers and the best bite was late in the day," he says. "At 2:00 we got the big one and culled out a 14-incher. We had a pretty good feeling that we had enough since it usually takes around 15-pounds to win this event."

The team reported catching fish on soft plastics and spinnerbaits and focused their efforts on wood.
